Bayern Munich today ended one of the longest contract sagas with the announcement of Alphonso Davies’ new deal until 2030, and now Jamal Musiala is expected to follow suit.
According to Kerry Hau, unless something completely out of the ordinary happens, Musiala will sign an extension this month. The player’s current deal expires in 2026 and a new contract for the generational talent would likely see Musiala become the Rekordmeister’s highest-paid player, surpassing Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski.
As reported in November, Musiala’s new contract would see the 21-year-old earn around €22m, a significant rise from his current single-digit million salary, putting him in the same bracket as Harry Kane and ahead of the likes of Joshua Kimmich.
It’s quite feasible that like Davies, Musiala would sign a new contract until 2030, which would make him the club’s highest earner with the financial package spread over the next five years.
