Die Werkself’s experienced defender voiced his thoughts regarding his impending departure from the BayArena.

Despite generally keeping his head below the parapet, Jonathan Tah spoke to BILD on his departure from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
“I will certainly have the opportunity to say something in detail again [at the end of the season].
“I’m not a man of many words, but I would of course like to thank everyone for their support. I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart for everything,” he added.
The 29-year-old centre-half said it is an emotional topic, not just for him but his wife who equally finds the decision hard to deal with.
“When I sit at home with my wife and we talk about it, it brings tears to her eyes. I’ll probably feel the same way when we play our last home game. That means a lot to me,” Tah explained.
The Hamburg native has been an integral part of Xabi Alonso’s team, captaining them to their first Bundesliga title last season while making a further 30 appearances this campaign.
