Isaac Price set to leave Everton this summer to join Standard Liege

Isaac Price is reportedly set to leave Everton at the end of this season. 

This is according to The Athletic who are reporting the 19-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with Belgian side Standard Liege. 

The youngster started his career by joining the Toffees’ youth academy at the age of seven. His amazing performances for the club’s reserve teams convinced former boss Frank Lampard to feature him in an FA Cup match last year for his professional debut. 

He has since made two more substitute appearances for the Merseyside outfit. 

However, the 19-year-old is now set to leave the Blues, ending his 12-year stay at the club. 

Price’s contract at Goodison Park will expire in June and he has reportedly turned down the Toffees’ attempts to pen fresh terms.  

This is because he wants to play regular football, something which he looked unlikely to get in Merseyside. 

Everton are set to receive around £400,000 in UEFA compensation due to his departure. 

The English side are also likely to lose several other players as their contracts are expiring at the end of this season. 

Seamus Coleman, Yerry Mina, Tom Davies, Andros Townsend, Asmir Begovic, Andy Lonergan and Abdoulaye Doucoure will all be out of contracts this summer. 

If Sean Dyche’s side fail to avoid relegation, they could also lose Jordan Pickford, even though he signed a new long-term deal in February. 

Everton are currently on the edge of the relegation zone and face a tough fight with Leeds United, Leicester City and Nottingham Forest for Premier League survival.
