Inter star Marcus Thuram showed his worth once again on Sunday, as the Frenchman was on target for his side against Roma.
The day was billed to be all about a certain Romelu Lukaku, who was returning to the San Siro for the first time since leaving Inter and essentially ‘betraying’ for his former club and teammates when the Nerazzurri were trying their best to sign him on a permanent basis.
Lukaku was handed a vociferous reception, as Inter fans whistled the Belgian as soon as he stepped foot outside the team bus and onto the pitch at the San Siro. But it was Thuram whose late goal that stole the show. And it isn’t the first time that the France international has impressed in what has been a very positive season.
Thuram combined very well with Lautaro Martinez once again, showing that he can replicate the famous Lu-La partnership. He has now played nine Serie A games, scoring thrice and racking up seven assists. It was his second consecutive goal of the season.
Thuram had joined the club on a free transfer after his contract at Borussia Monchengladbach had expired and he is proving to be one of the most impressive signings of the season in Europe.
