L’Équipe are reporting that Inter Milan are set to submit an offer for Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard (27), who is reportedly Manchester United’s number-one target should Harry Maguire (30) move on from the club.
Inter Milan have a long-standing interest in the France international and are set to reignite their interest. An offer is expected to be tabled in the coming hours. The Serie A side, therefore, look set to rival Manchester United for Pavard’s signature. The Frenchman is the Red Devils’ priority to replace Maguire. The England international had looked set to join West Ham United, but he now looks to be refusing to leave the Old Trafford club.
OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo is another option for Manchester United, and the club sent scouts to watch the former Barcelona centre-back compete in Les Aiglons’ Ligue 1 opener against Lille OSC on Thursday. The Premier League side may switch their focus towards Todibo should Inter Milan’s incoming offer for Pavard be deemed sufficient.
