Inter Milan decide to keep Milan Skriniar as they turn down PSG’s €50m offer

Inter Milan have reportedly decided to keep Milan Skriniar at the San Siro amid huge interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old has been on the books of the Serie A outfit since 2017 and has made over 200 appearances across all competitions.

The defender played an instrumental role in helping his side win the 2020-21 Serie A title as well as last season’s Coppa Italia. 

PSG wanted to bring him to France this summer and made a €50 million bid.

However, as per reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inter have turned down their huge offer as they want to keep him at the San Siro. 

Great decision 

Skriniar is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Serie A. 

He is a strong tackler who can also be used as a defensive midfielder. He has averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.0 interceptions and 3.5 clearances per game for both club and country (as per WhoScored). 

The Slovakia international has been consistently performing well for Inter since his arrival at the club in 2017. 

The Nerazzurri were never interested in selling him but it was suggested they could be forced to do so due to their financial difficulties. 

However, the Italian giants have sold Andrea Pinamonti to Sassuolo and Cesare Casadei to Chelsea, which could help them keep the Slovak. 

Inter failed to defend their league title last season but they should be a good contender this term with Romelu Lukaku returning and Skriniar now also staying at the club.
