Barcelona star Gavi will see his imminent return to the pitch followed swiftly by a contract extension offer on the part of the Blaugrana.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
Gavi, for his part, has of course spent recent weeks ramping up his recovery from a long-term spell on the sidelines, owing to an ACL injury suffered whilst on international duty with Spain late last year.
The 20-year-old has gradually increased the intensity of his training sessions, now taking part in the majority of drills alongside Hansi Flick’s squad.
As much is expected to culminate in his return to matchday duties this weekend, for Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla.
And, as alluded to above, Gavi’s comeback will in turn soon be followed by the midfielder’s terms in Catalunya’s capital being extended.
As confirmed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, citing Barca president Joan Laporta:
‘Barcelona are prepared to get new deal done for Gavi as soon as he returns on the pitch.’
