Bologna are interested in signing Omar Alderete from Hertha Berlin, according to Sky Germany. Initial discussions have already taken place but the central-defender is holding out on an offer from Valencia.
Alderete (25) spent last season on loan at Valencia and would like to return to the Spanish side. Hertha Berlin would also prefer to sell the Paraguayan defender rather than a loan, which Bologna are interested in.
Since joining Hertha Berlin from Basel for €4m in October 2020, Alderete played 17 Bundesliga games for Hertha Berlin before joining Valencia last summer. The Bundesliga side would also be open to selling Alderete, who has three-years remaining on his current deal, to raise funds for further reinforcements.
Hertha have strengthened their defence with the signings of Jonjoe Kenny and Filip Uremovic on free transfers from Everton and Rubin Kazan. They also announced the signing of Wilfried Kanga (24) over the weekend. We can still expect further departures from Hertha.
