Bayern Munich cruised into the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena, taking their aggregate tally to 5-0.
Jamal Musiala could have added to the win with a little more luck, but was unfortunate to hit the woodwork twice towards the end of the game.
“I’m really annoyed about it, but we’ve won, we’re moving on,” Musiala told Prime Video after the game.
Overall, the 22-year-old was very pleased with Bayern’s performance.
“We prepared well. We knew we had to be at a top level to beat them and played really well twice. The intensity and energy were there until the 90th minute. We have to take that into the coming games and the next round of the Champions League,” he said.
Looking ahead to the quarter-final against Inter, who beat Feyenoord 4-1 on aggregate, Musiala said:
“The Inter game will be another tough match. We know the history and how well they’re playing right now. We’ll begin preparations after the international break and then go full throttle again. Personally, I’m focused on the next round. We all want to get to the final, but tonight we’ve taken a step, and we need to take another against Inter.”
