Morgan Sanson (29), currently on loan at OGC Nice from Aston Villa, has said that he is keen to make the move permanent at the end of the year.
After a successful six-month spell with RC Strasbourg Alsace, Sanson, who has only made 23 appearances for Aston Villa since his move from Olympique de Marseille in January 2021, returned to Villa Park last summer, however, he was immediately shipped back out on loan.
Building on those strong performances for Strasbourg, Sanson has asserted himself as a key figure within Les Aiglons’ midfield, with the former France U21 international quickly earning the trust of new manager Francesco Farioli.
Ghisolfi keen to keep Sanson at Nice
Sanson says that he wishes to remain at Nice beyond the end of his loan spell, and added that this desire is shared by sporting director Florent Ghisolfi. Sanson’s loan move to Nice includes a buy option, which according to the midfielder, includes “attainable” trigger clauses.
“Yes, of course [I want to stay]. Florent Ghisolfi has said the same thing that he wants me involved in the project for the long term. Even if there is a permanent option with clauses that are very much attainable, I think I’ll be here for a while. I will do everything to ensure that the option is triggered,” Sanson told Get French Football News.
