Newly signed Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy has issued a personal statement thanking VfB Stuttgart and its supporters for their support over the last two years.
Serhou Guirassy – after outgoing transfer rumors revolved around him all last summer – ended up having by far the most successful season of his career with VfB Stuttgart last year. Thirty goals in thirty appearances across all competitions quadrupled the 28-year-old’s estimated market worth up to a career high €40 million this year.
Borussia Dortmund officially plucked Guirassy away from Swabia on Thursday evening. Stuttgart, in a club-sanctioned press release, quoted Guirassy expressing his gratitude for “the best two years of my career”. The striker then posted an official farewell message to Stuttgart fans on his instagram feed.
“This was probably the hardest decision I’ve had to make,” Guirassy wrote, “I will follow your games with the same passion and hope that our paths will cross again in the future.”
