Ahead of RB Leipzig’s clash with Bayern Munich, Lois Openda says he hopes to reach Harry Kane’s level one day.
RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda has praised Bayern Munich star Harry Kane, saying he believes the England captain is one of the best players in the world and that he wants to be at his level one day.
Speaking to Sport Bild ahead of RB Leipzig’s home game against Bayern in the Bundesliga on Saturday, Openda said:
“Harry Kane is one of the best players in the world. He’s better than me. But that’s what drives me: I want to be at his level one day.
“I can do a lot more and that’s what I’m working on every day to get the best out of myself,” Openda added.
A Belgium international with 11 caps to his name, Openda joined RB Leipzig from French Ligue 1 side RC Lens in the summer.
Before making the move, he spoke to former RB Leipzig and current Belgium coach about Die Roten Bullen.
“He only told me positive things: That the club wants to win every game, win the cup, always be in the Champions League. And that they always have young players they give playing time to so they can develop,” Openda explained.
