Hull City land Puerta, but miss out on Alidou

After Chris Bedia’s loan-out was confirmed late yesterday, there are fresh updates on two other Bundesliga players targeted by German Hull City A.F.C. head-coach Tim Walter.

Three Bundesliga players linked with moves to join German Hull City A.F.C. trainer Tim Walter are all likely to complete their transfers out of German football shortly. Walter captured one of his targets yesterday in the form of underutilized 1. FC Union Berlin striker Chris Bedia. German footballing journalist Stephan van Nocks – the Leverkusen correspondent for Kicker Magazine – reports that Walter is set to secure a second target in the form of Bayer’s Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta.

Walter and Hull have beaten out Denmark’s Brøndby IF in the race for Puerta’s services. Van Nocks reports that a loan deal with an obligatory purchase option has been negotiated. Puerta is likely to join Hull permanently once the automatic purchase clause, linked to his number of appearances, is triggered. Whereas Brøndby were offering around €3,5 million, Leverkusen will pocket a higher fee in the €5-million-range for their player from the EFL side. Bayer paid around €1 million to pick Puerta in January of 2023.

With respect to the third German top flight player targeted by Walter, it appears as if the Tigers have lost out on Eintracht Frankfurt striker Faride Alidou. Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio reports that the 23-year-old will be moving to Hellas Verona. Di Marzio reports that Eintracht have negotiated a one-year-loan with a €4 million purchase option. Alidou – who enjoyed some success out on loan with Köln last season – is set to join other former Bundesliga professionals Ondrej Duda (Köln) and Suat Serdar (Schalke) in Venetia.
