Hugo Mallo is seriously considering leaving Celta Vigo, according to Relevo.
After fourteen years as the club’s right-back, he has played 436 games for the Galician outfit, the second-highest appearance holder at the club, tied with club legend Iago Aspas, and only behind Manolo.
The relationship between Celta and Mallo has always been strong and relations could not be better.
The captain’s reasons would only be due to his desire to take on a new challenge elsewhere, considering that he has already spent almost a decade and a half at Celta.
A few days ago, the club met with the 31-year-old to discuss his renewal. With a contract until next June, it was time to talk about their future plans.
At the club they want the captain to remain part of the plans, but Mallo made it clear that it could be time to go their separate ways and embark on a new professional adventure.
