Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli have now abandoned their chase of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Earlier today, it seemed as if Osimhen was on the way to Al Ahli and had opened up to the possibility of the move and talks were progressing.
Gianluca di Marzio has now reported that it seems as if Al Ahli will not sign Osimhen and will focus on signing only Ivan Toney, who has already undergone a medical for the club.
There was a distance of €5 million between what Napoli wanted and what Al Ahli were offering and the Saudi club have made it clear that they will not offer more.
In the meantime, Chelsea’s executives are also in Naples and they could attempt to sign the player before deadline day. Osimhen currently has an agreement with Al-Ahli but no wage agreement has been found with the Blues, who offered a fee similar to Al-Ahli yesterday.
Al-Ahli directors are annoyed about the situation and have let Napoli know about why that has happened.
