Leon Avdullahu will join TSG Hoffenheim from Switzerland’s double-winners.
TSG Hoffenheim complete the signing of Leon Avdullahu from FC Basel for a reported transfer fee of €8 million. The 21-year-old was a key player in Basel’s rejuvenation as they completed the double with league and cup triumphs.
“He’s a strategically minded player who combines aggression and tackling ability with good vision and strong technical skills,” said Hoffenheim’s sporting director Andreas Schicker after the official unveiling.
“We know that Leon had various options this summer, and we’re all the more pleased that he has consciously decided to take the next step in his career with us and wants to follow TSG’s path.”
“I’m incredibly proud to now be part of this team and TSG,” said Avdullahu at his presentation. “The discussions with the management were excellent and quickly convinced me. The conditions here are ideal for my continued development and for achieving success with the club. I can hardly wait to meet my new teammates and finally get started on the pitch.”
Although he’s yet to be selected for the national team, Avdullahu recently captained Switzerland’s U21.
