Bild reports that Hoffenheim are demanding up to €50m for Maximilian Beier as the club and Borussia Dortmund negotiate over a transfer fee for the 21-year-old.
Dortmund’s first offer for Beier is said to be worth €25m, but Hoffenheim want €35m plus €15m in potential bonuses for the striker. Die Schwarzgelben have no desire to even pay that amount for Beier and the maximum they will go is the same fee they received for Niclas Füllkrug.
However, the deal is unlikely to collapse.
Beier is desperate to leave Hoffenheim and join Dortmund while the uncertain management situation at Hoffenheim also plays in Dortmund’s favour. While the striker has already reached a personal agreement with Dortmund over a transfer. The 21-year-old scored 16 goals last season and played his way into the Germany squad for EURO 2024.
Dortmund need striker options ahead of the start of the DFB-Pokal next weekend as Serhou Guirassy is injured and the likes of Sebastien Haller and Youssoufa Moukoko are trying to be offloaded by Dortmund.
