TSG Hoffenheim have announced the signing of Norwegian international Leo Østigård.
The centre-back joins the Bundesliga side on loan from Stade Rennes for the remainder of the season.
“In Leo, we have found a centre-back with the qualities we were looking for in the home stretch of the winter transfer window,” said Hoffenheim’s managing director for sport, Andreas Schicker.
“Despite his young age, he is already an internationally experienced player who has played at the highest level in England, but above all in France and Italy. During his time at SSC Napoli, Leo won the Italian championship in 2022/2023 and was a regular in Serie A last season. Leo is also a regular at Stade Rennes this season.
“He is an uncompromising defender who doesn’t shy away from a duel. That’s why we’re convinced that Leo will give our game the stability we need.”
