Domenico Tedesco praised the work Sebastian Hoeneß has been doing at VfB Stuttgart after tonight’s game in Istanbul. The Italian-German spent seven years with Stuttgart youth teams early in his managerial career. The current Fenerbahçe coach beat his former club in a hard-fought Europa League encounter.
“Stuttgart is a great team,” said the former Schalke and Leipzig coach in his post-match press conference. “They have a lot of national team players, and they are physically very strong. Sebastian Hoeneß has been doing a great job there for years. For sure, he has developed the team further.”
Tedesco replaced Jose Mourinho after Fenerbahçe’s exit from the Champions League. While they dropped four costly points in the league, Tedesco’s team now won back-to-back games in the Europa League.
“I was not satisfied at the beginning of the game. Then, we found our rhythm. It was a very physical game.” said the DFB-Pokal winner with RB Leipzig.
