Julian Brandt has come to the aid of Hansi Flick amid suggestions that the 58-year-old’s job as Germany coach is under threat following a string of poor results.
“He has taken a lot of criticism in the last weeks and months. I think he’s doing a sensational job right now. He’s very clear in his speeches. I think he knows exactly what he wants, what he demands. That’s what he’s communicating,” Brandt said at a press conference on Thursday.
“Sure, now you look at it even more closely from the outside,” the Borussia Dortmund midfielder commented on the public focus on Flick after four games in a row without a win.
“What’s important is what happens on Saturday and Tuesday and how we’ll be judged in the end,” he said, referring to the upcoming matches against Japan and France.
