Hertha BSC confirmed that they had completed the signing of FC Midtjylland U19 striker/winger Gustav Ørsøe Christensen yesterday.

A deal involving Hertha BSC rumored to be in the works for some time is finally through. FC Midtjylland U19 striker Gustav Christensen has signed on with Berlin’s Charlottenburg side for the new season. The versatile 18-year-old collected impressive statistics for U19 of the Danish club. In 55 league games, he scored 41 goals and provided nine assists. Last season alone, Christensen recorded 34 scorer points (31 goals, three assists).

Hertha sporting director Benjamin Weber called Christensen a “an exciting talent” and lauded the teenager’s “spirit, fight, and determination”. Hertha already secured attacking assistance ahead of the new season last January in the form of Holstein Kiel’s Fabian Reese; who committed to joining “die alte Dame” on a free next season last January. Striker Florian Niederlechner – who arrived early last January – is thought to wish to stay with the club.
