Mainz coach Bo Henriksen is keeping his cards close to his chest ahead of Friday’s clash with Augsburg and his Danish compatriot Jess Thorup.
Bo Henriksen’s Mainz team have been training behind closed doors ahead of Friday’s Bundesliga clash with Augsburg.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Henriksen explained that he didn’t want to give away any clues to his Danish compatriot and friend, Augsburg coach Jess Thorup.
“We had to do a bit of tactical work this week. I know my colleague very well. If I do it openly, he’ll know,” Henriksen explained.
After two draws and a defeat, Mainz are still waiting for their first win of the season.
“We’re not Barcelona, we’re Mainz,” said Henriksen when asked about his style of play.
“I’m not afraid. This is just football. But we are still working every day to win. We need a bit of patience.”
On the personnel front, Henriksen said he expected to have a full squad to choose from, including centre-back Andreas Hanche-Olsen, who missed last week’s 1-2 defeat against Werder Bremen.
