22-year-old defensive midfielder Julian Niehues is joining Heidenheim from Kaiserslautern.

1. FC Heidenheim have confirmed the signing of Julian Niehues from 2. Bundesliga outfit 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has agreed to a contract until 2027 with Heidenheim.
“At just 22 years old, Julian has already played more than 50 games in the 2. Bundesliga,” said Heidenheim sporting director Robert Strauss.
“He is characterized above all by his physical presence – both with and against the ball. Along with his desire to constantly develop, this makes him a type of player who suits us perfectly. We are pleased that Julian sees his future at FCH.”
Niehues has played 25 games for Kaiserslautern this season, scoring two goals.
