It’s rare for a coach to criticize the performance of an opposing player, but that’s exactly what Ronald Koeman did after his side’s 2-2 draw with Germany.
On a night to forget for Jonathan Tah, he was taken off at half-time of Germany’s 2-2 draw with the Netherlands on Tuesday night.
After the game, the Bayer Leverkusen defender came in for plenty of criticism – and not just from the media, but also, surprisingly, from Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman.
“Tah had big problems and made a lot of mistakes,” Koeman said at his post-match press conference.
“After six fouls, he finally got a yellow card,” the Netherlands coach continued.
Tah, 28, has played 31 games for the German national team, and has been a regular starter since Julian Nagelsmann took over as coach last year.
