After several months on the sidelines with a groin injury, Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface could make his comeback in Wednesday’s DFB-Pokal semifinal against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

This was confirmed by Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso at a press conference on Tuesday.

“Victor could play a part of the game,” Xabi Alonso told reporters.

“He trained hard and came through with a strong mentality. He can’t wait to get back on the pitch.”

As well as Boniface, Exequiel Palacios and Arthur are also fit and available, giving Xabi a full squad to choose from.

“We don’t have any injured players, everyone is here and that puts us in a very good situation. You can expect a Bayer 04 team with the best starting eleven tomorrow,” said Xabi Alonso.

“Hopefully, we can show our best game and for that we need our fans to create a good atmosphere at the BayArena.”
