Speaking exclusively to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić discussed the current situation regarding Lewandowski and the probably that he remains at the Bundesliga club.
“Until now, it’s 100%,” said Salihamidžić. “July 12 is his first day at work, so I’m awaiting him but I’m not thinking about that now because we’ve got other things to do. I think that things have calmed down a bit.”
Salihamidžić flew to Mallorca to have talks with Lewandowski and his agent, Pini Zahavi. “I think we had a very good conversation. It’s true that I was there. Oliver Kahn was also there. We talks, each side explained their position, we didn’t want to talk about other details but it was a good conversation.”
Lewandowski is entering the final year of his contract and wants to leave for Barcelona, who’ve already seen their opening offer for the 33-year-old rebuffed. Barcelona are have reportedly submitted an improved offer, but it’s not near Bayern’s €50m valuation.
