Bayern Munich were eliminated from the Champions League following a 4-3 aggregate defeat against Inter, despite a 2-2 draw on the night at the Giuseppe Meazza.
The Englishman had levelled the tie with Bayern’s opening goal in the 52nd minute but the Rekordmeister’s lead didn’t last long with Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard giving Inter a 2-1 lead on the night with two goals from corners in the space of three minutes.
Kane, via iMiaSanMia, discussed Bayern Munich’s elimination after the game.
“We gave everything to win,” said the 31-year-old. “We had enough chances over the two legs.
“Conceding two goals from set pieces today was criminal. It completely shifted the momentum.
“We came very close. Football is about moments. They took theirs more than us.”
It means that the Champions League trophy still eludes Kane, despite Bayern’s valiant effort in the final 15 minutes which saw fellow Englishman Eric Dier head Vincent Kompany’s side level on the night, but that third goal just eluded the Bundesliga leaders.
