Hannover 96 have confirmed this afternoon that defender Boris Tomiak will likely spend a spell on the sidelines through injury.
Following a collision in his own penalty area in the 75th-minute during their 0-0 stalemate with Dynamo Dresden, Tomiak went down.
The defender dislocated his left elbow in the process as team doctor Hauke Mommsen, arrived to put it back in place on the field.
The 27-year-old was carried off to an applause from the spectators in the Heinz von Heiden Arena, with Hendry Blank taking his place.
However, further tests on Monday 23 February revealed both a capsular and ligament injury in the same affected left elbow.
A decision on the next steps will be made in the coming days. Hannover’s statement wished the defender a speedy recovery.
