Amadou Haidara has missed RB Leipzig’s first four matches of 2024 while representing Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The midfielder is now back in Germany, but will miss the trip to Augsburg on Sunday due to a knee injury.
“Apart from ‘Doudou’, everyone is fit,” RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose told reporters at a press conference on Friday.
“He came back from the Africa Cup of Nations with a slight knee problem, so he can’t play.
“It’s a slight swelling. Maybe the trip home also played a role. We’re treating it now.”
Leipzig hope to have Haidara back for Wednesday’s Champions League round of 16 clash with Real Madrid.
