After Germany’s 2-0 win over Hungary, Ilkay Gündogan was named Player of the Match.
Germany captain Ilkay Gündogan played a key role in his side’s 2-0 win over Hungary on Wednesday night, assisting Jamal Musiala’s opener before netting the second.
After the final whistle, the FC Barcelona midfielder was named UEFA’s Player of the Match.
“An assist for the first goal and himself for the second,” said UEFA’s Technical Observer Panel.
“Clever, consistent. It was difficult against the low block, had to keep his confidence and scored.”
Gündogan has now scored 19 goals and provided nine assists in 79 matches for the German national team.
