Guessand Needs Five More G/A for Permanent Move

Crystal Palace will sign Aston Villa striker Evann Guessand permanently in the summer transfer window if certain clauses are met, and Sky Sports have now provided the details as a permanent move closes in.

Guessand made the move to Selhurst Park on loan in the January transfer window, and he’s enjoyed an impressive start under Oliver Glasner.

The 24-year-old struggled to make an impact during his time at Aston Villa, leaving after just a few months, but he’s now become more of an important figure under Glasner than he was under Unai Emery.

A permanent departure from Villa feels likely for Guessand, even if he doesn’t make the move to Selhurst Park, as he clearly wasn’t fancied by Emery.

The Ivory Coast international played 13 times for Villa in the Premier League this season, but he predominantly came off the bench, playing a total of 588 minutes.

It’s claimed that Guessand needs five more goal involvements at Palace to seal a permanent move, having managed three already since joining the club in the January window.

It’s claimed that five more goals or assists will lead to Palace paying a fee of £28m to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer.

Palace are now in a win-win situation with Guessand. If the France-born forward provides five more goals and assists between now and the end of the season, it will be an impressive return.

£28m isn’t a huge fee in the modern era, and it’ll turn out to be worth it if Guessand can reach eight goals and assists before the end of the campaign.

Guessand hasn’t been a guaranteed starter under Glasner since his arrival in the Premier League, but he’s certainly knocking on the door at the moment.

He’s provided two goals and assists in England’s top flight in just 144 minutes, and he could be in line for more regular game time in the near future.
