Gregor Kobel has emerged as a doubt for Borussia Dortmund’s first game of 2026 in the Bundesliga against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday.
According to Bild, the Switzerland international has been forced to leave the Black and Yellows’ training camp in Marbella, Spain, earlier than planned due to illness.
Prior to his return to Germany, the 28-year-old had only been training individually at the camp, with the club initially citing load management as the reason.
Should Kobel be ruled out, Alexander Meyer is ready to deputise in goal against Eintracht on Friday.
Kobel has featured in all 24 of Dortmund’s games so far this season.
