Alexander Meyer kept a clean sheet to begin Dortmund’s Champions League run in place of injured Gregor Kobel. The Swiss international has a muscle fiber tear, but the club has not given a recovery timeline. A return against Leipzig this weekend for Matchday 6 could be too soon.
Meyer was signed on a free transfer from Jahn Regensburg this summer and impressed against Copenhagen. The 31-year-old has made 94 starts in Germany’s second division, but has never played in the Bundesliga.
