Robin Gosens believes that Kevin Behrens will be called up to the German national team in time if he continues to perform like he has so far this season.

Robin Gosens has backed his Union Berlin teammate Kevin Behrens to earn his first call-up to the German national team in the future.
Behrens, 32, has made huge strides since joining Union from Sandhausen in 2021 and has been in fine form since the start of the season, finding the net four times in three Bundesliga games.
With that in mind, Gosens is certain that Behrens is on the radar of Germany coach Hansi Flick, even if the veteran striker didn’t make the squad this time around.
“I’m sure he’s on the list,” Gosens told reporters today.
“He will get his chance sooner or later when the time is right if he continues to perform consistently,” he added.
Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Füllkrug has been ruled out of the German squad for the upcoming matches against Japan and France due to injury, leaving Hansi Flick’s squad without a natural number nine.
Füllkrug’s absence means Germany “will have to change their game a bit,” Gosens said.
“But we only have quality players here. So I’m not worried.”
