After Joshua Kimmich remarked that Julian Nagelsmann was one of the “top three coaches” he’s ever served under, close friend and midfield partner for both club and country Leon Goretzka also paid tribute to the departed 34-year-old trainer Friday on his Instagram feed Friday evening. Goretzka posted a picture of himself and Nagelsmann engaging in a post-match congratulatory hug and added the following message:
“That’s so much for working together with us. It was a collaboration always characterized by trust, fun, and mutual respect. You’re a great person and coach whom we all wish the very best from the bottom of our hearts. It’s now up to us players to bring your work to a successful conclusion.”
