Girona and Real Sociedad competing to sign Valencia starlet with €20m asking price

Despite struggling with significant financial problems over the last few years, Valencia are not required to sell anyone this summer. However, that may not stop a big sale from taking place – specifically, the one of Javi Guerra.

Guerra is viewed as one of the brightest talents to emerge from Valencia’s academy over the last few years. He’s very highly regarded at Los Che, although given the interest being shown in him, they are not opposed to a sale happening.

Real Sociedad and Girona are both very keen on adding Guerra to their respective squads, and according to Cadena SER (via MD), both clubs are in talks with Valencia over a deal for the 21-year-old midfielder.

Girona have already had two offers rejected, the latest of which was for €15m. Valencia would accept €20m, a similar amount to which La Real should receive for Mikel Merino – Guerra would be the replacement for the Euro 2024 winner, who’s attracting interest from Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal.

It remains to be seen whether Real Sociedad or Girona reach that €20m valuation before the end of the summer transfer window. Valencia are in no rush to sell, so the impetus is on the buying clubs.
