The powers that be at Getafe have earmarked a member of the attacking ranks at La Liga rivals Real Sociedad as a transfer target for the summer.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Umar Sadiq as the player in question.
The Getafe brass have identified reinforcements in the attacking third as something of a priority with a view to next season.
As much comes following the respective loan departures of Enes Ünal and Anthony Lozano.
Add to this the slim chances of Mason Greenwood’s loan terms being renewed, and the imminent expiration of Jaime Mata’s contract, and the Azulones are all of a sudden looking extremely light up top.
Sadiq, in turn, has been earmarked as one of a number of potential options for the summer.
The 27-year-old is in the midst of something of a hit-and-miss campaign, which has seen him afforded starts in just 12 of Real Sociedad’s La Liga fixtures.
The Getafe hierarchy are therefore hopeful of their counterparts at Anoeta being open to the prospect of a season-long loan deal.
