Niclas Füllkrug will receive a bonus payment if he gets called up to the German national team, according to Sport Bild.
Per the report, Werder will be obliged to pay the 29-year-old forward a fee in the five-digit euro range if he wins a call-up for Germany.
Füllkrug has scored eight goals in the first nine Bundesliga games this season, and his great form has led to calls for Germany coach Hansi Flick to include him in his World Cup squad.
For example, former Germany midfielder Toni Kroos recently said on his podcast ‘Einfach mal Luppen’ that he believes Füllkrug should be under consideration.
“If you look at the current form, I think he should be in contention,” Kroos said.
