Georgian billionaire offers €10m windfall to squad if they beat Spain

Georgia are set for a historic battle with Spain in the last 16 of Euro 2024 on June 20.

La Roja eased into the knockout stages with maximum points from their three games in Group B.

However, Georgia were forced to battle for their place in the next phase, in their first ever major tournament appearance in Germany this summer.

Willy Sagnol’s side are rank outsiders up against Spain in Cologne but they will be confident of an upset against the 2012 and 2016 winners.

Georgia will be riding a wave of support from their fans this weekend and former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili is offering an extra reward.

As per reports from Relevo, Ivanishvili will give the squad €10m if they can get past Spain and book a slot in the quarter finals.

Ivanishvili labelled their group stage win over Portugal as a ‘historic and dream victory’ and the team will have another boost as they take on Spain.
