Last night Valencia defeated Osasuna 2-1 in the eighth round of La Liga.
Despite missing a penalty and not scoring a goal for Los Che, Gennaro Gattuso praised the performance of Edison Cavani:
“Look at the pass for the first goal and the work he has done for the team. With the experience he has, of course he likes to score, but I like how he talks to the team, the quality he has is something that helps the team a lot.”
In his post-match interview that appeared on Marca, he was also asked about the prospect of reaching the European places:
“I’m not talking about Europe, this is a very difficult league. I’m talking about getting 40 points and then we’ll talk about something else. We have to think about improving, continuing, because I like the way this team works, but winning games in La Liga is very difficult. Then we’ll see where we end the season.”
The Italian coach thanked the fans for making the trip:
“I have gone to greet the fans, because it is not easy to come here. The fans are our strength, they support us a lot at home and they are travelling with us.”
