Gemma Atkinson Was Offered ‘So Much Money’ After Cristiano Ronaldo Split

British actress Gemma Atkinson revealed she was offered a lucrative sum of money after her brief relationship with Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

The pair spent just four months together all the way back in 2007, when Ronaldo was at Manchester United and before any of his five Ballon d’Or wins. Atkinson lived locally due to her role on Hollyoaks.

Following the short-lived romance, the now 41-year-old TV star and radio presenter was asked to spill the beans on Ronaldo. In her own words, she was offered ‘so much money’.

Atkinson previously revealed that the footballer tried to impress her on low-key dates with tea and British comedy Only Fools and Horses. They weren’t together for long after becoming the talk of the town as two of the biggest names in the country at the time.

In an interview with Manchester’s Key 103 radio, Atkinson shared that she was offered a significant amount of cash to speak badly about the Portuguese star. She revealed (per the Daily Mail):

It appears things ended on healthy terms between the two, who were in their early 20s at the time. Ronaldo is now engaged to Georgina Rodríguez, whom he met in 2016. They have two daughters together, Alana and Bella, as well as twins Eva Maria and Mateo through surrogacy.

Meanwhile, Atkinson is married to Gorka Marquez, with whom she shares two children, Mia and Thiago. Everything worked out for the two in the end.

Had things worked out between them, Ronaldo and Atkinson would be worth an eye-watering amount of money together. The Al-Nassr forward became the first footballer to reach billionaire status, according to a Bloomberg report in 2025.
