As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Gauthier Hein is close to joining Hertha Berlin from French side AJ Auxerre.
The 26-year-old winger has been with Auxerre since 2020 and made over 65 competitive appearances for the club scoring on 15 occasions.
Hein has spent his whole professional career in France but looks set to move to Bundesliga and hopefully help Hertha avoid relegation.
It’s no wonder that Hertha are looking at making some late transfers. Since the Bundesliga restart, Hertha have played three and lost three conceding 10 goals and scoring just once. In reaction to this, Hertha sacked sporting director Fredi Bobic over the weekend.
As well as looking to sign Hein, Hertha have also been linked with Leicester City defender Jannik Vestergaard. The Danish international is vastly experienced in the Premier League as well as the Bundesliga. Previously, the 30-year-old played for Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany’s top flight.
