According to journalist Tom Bogert, Gareth Bale is set to join Los Angeles FC on a one-year deal.
LAFC are currently finalising a deal to sign Bale, who is a free agent as his contract with Real Madrid expires this summer.
He leaves Real Madrid with five Champions League titles, three La Liga championships and a Copa del Rey during a nine-year spell with the Spanish club.
It is understood that Bale had numerous clubs vying for his services. The Wales captain had been linked with a move to hometown club Cardiff City as he prepares to play in this winter’s World Cup in Qatar, Wales’ first since 1958.
The North American club will be the fourth of his career, having previously played for Southampton, Tottenham and Real Madrid.
LAFC recently signed Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini. Bale and Chiellini would be eligible to debut for their new club against the LA Galaxy on July 8.
Last season, LAFC finished 9th in the Western Conference, ending outside the play-offs.
