Galatasaray threaten RB Leipzig – Get German Football News

During the summer, RB Leipzig loaned out Angeliño to Turkish champions Galatasaray. The deal saw both clubs agree on a season-long loan for the Spaniard, with an obligation to buy included in the deal.

In order for the €6m obligation clause to be met, Angeliño would have to feature in 20 competitive games for Galatasaray. However, with the former Leipzig wing-back already making 17 appearances, the Turkish club are threatening to bench Angeliño for the remainder of the season unless Die Roten Bullen agree to renegotiate the required obligation fee.

Despite playing an important role so far this campaign, Angeliño has been out of the squad for the last two games against Hatayspor and Kasimpasa. However, according to Bild, Leipzig will not entertain any threat from Galatasaray, with the club’s sporting director, Rouven Schröder, making it clear that they will respect the original contract.

As well as this, there is a belief that Galatasaray will put Angeliño back into the starting XI due to his importance the side, meaning that the deal will eventually go through. Otherwise, the Spaniard will be sold in the summer with a year left on his contract, as he has no future back in Saxony due to his disruptive behaviour in the past.
