Germany coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Niclas Füllkrug will not be involved against Japan and France due to a minor injury.

Niclas Füllkrug has been ruled out of Germany’s upcoming friendlies against Japan and France.

The German Football Association (DFB) announced yesterday that Thomas Müller has been recalled to the national team to cover for Füllkrug, who is struggling with a minor injury.

Füllkrug traveled to the team’s camp in Wolfsburg but will return to Dortmund on Thursday, Germany coach Hansi Flick told reporters before the start of today’s training session.

“He would have a small chance of playing against France on Tuesday, but we also have to be considerate of the clubs,” Flick explained.

Germany face Japan at the Volkswagen Arena this Saturday in the first of two friendlies this month.
