From Mario Gila to Sam Beukema: Inter’s plan to reinforce the Nerazzurri back-line

As the Serie A season edges closer to the finish line, Inter begin planning out the blue-prints of the market as they are prepared to reinforcement the back-line with an additional central defender.

As it stands, well-renowned football agent Federico Pastorello has stated that the Nerazzurri will certainly renew Dutchman Stefan De Vrij’s contract at the end of the campaign, as his performances with the central role of the back-three were very convincing, proving that he can be a pivotal piece to coach Simone Inzaghi’s puzzle.

On the other hand, Pastorello did not give quite an affirmative answer in regards to the future of former Lazio skipper Francesco Acerbi, despite highly praising the 37-year-old’s season and that his time at Inter should be “framed” following the difficult end to his stay in the eternal city, in which he was quite frankly forced out by the Biancocelesti.

Hence, journalist Pasquale Guarro reports that Lazio central defender Mario Gila has emerged as the Nerazzurri’s primary candidate for the Beneamata to lure into the squad ahead of next season. The Spanish defender’s capability to build out of the back and immense speed permits the left-footed defender to fit seamlessly under Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system.

So far this season, the former Real Madrid defender has made a total of 26 appearances for coach Marco Baroni’s side, displaying that he possesses all the tools to flourish into a top-level central defender.

The Biscione are also eyeing Sam Beukema of Bologna, whom will be monitored very closely this evening by the Nerazzurri,  the Rossoblu’s Johan Lucumi, and Omar Solet of Udinese.

Guarro also adds that despite Yann Aurel Bisseck’s great development with the Nerazzurri, Inter would be open to potentially selling the German international if a lucrative offer were to come there way as it would serve as a major capital gain within the accounting books.
