Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that initial talks between Manchester Untied and Bayer 04 Leverkusen have taken place for the summer purchase of Dutch fullback/winger Jeremie Frimpong.
Leverkusen’s versatile flanker Jeremie Frimpong has been linked with a move to Manchester United for several months. According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky’s German outfit, the signing of Brazilian right-back Arthur has now rendered Simon Rolfes and the B04 administrative team ready to begin talking about a summer transfer. Initial talks have begun. A transfer fee in the neighborhood of €40 million is being discussed.
In the midst of a highly productive season fro Germany’s red company team (eight goals and ten assists for Leverkusen across all competitions), the 22-year-old’s estimated market worth has risen from €20 million in September to €35 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. The Westphalian German club purchased Frimpong for a reported €11 million from Celtic in the January 2021 transfer window.
