Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has insisted that Jeremie Frimpong is not letting reported interest in his services affect his performances.
Jeremie Frimpong is unfazed by reports that the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are interested in signing him, according to Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso.
“What happens next season is not an issue for me,” Alonso said at a press conference when asked about the speculation surrounding Frimpong’s future.
“Rumors are normal in football. ‘Jerry’ is a special player, who has played very well and scored eight goals in the Bundesliga. So it’s normal. I talk to him a lot and he is 100 percent focused on Bayer Leverkusen.
“If it wasn’t like that, I would talk to him. But it’s not a problem for anyone. He has the hunger to improve and help the team,” Alonso stressed.
