A fresh twist has this week been reported in the future of Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski.
This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana are now giving fresh consideration to offering a contract renewal to the Pole.
Frontman Lewandowski is as things stand due to bring a close to his Camp Nou stint in the summer.
As much comes ahead of the expiration of the deal signed by the former Bayern Munich man upon his arrival in Spain back in the summer of 2022.
Set to turn 38 later this year, it has long been reported that Lewandowski, in turn, would be allowed to depart as a free agent.
As alluded to above, however, if the latest word doing the rounds online this week is anything to go by, then as much appears far from certain.
As per a report from ESPN:
‘Barcelona are considering offering Robert Lewandowski a contract extension to remain at the Camp Nou for at least another season but only on reduced wages.’
Hansi Flick, it is added, is more than happy with the ongoing contributions of his veteran goalscorer, a key factor in Deco and co. opening the door to a potential renewal.
