Niklas Süle’s future at Borussia Dortmund could boil down to his performance this weekend, BILD suggests.
With Nico Schlotterbeck and Yan Couto suspended for BVB’s trip to SC Freiburg, Sule may get his chance to impress.
Whether the 29-year-old gets a shot at centre-back, right-back or indeed at all remains to be seen.
Süle last started an away game in mid-February against VfL Bochum where he desperately misplaced a backpass leading to a goal in a 2-0 defeat.
Head coach Niko Kovac recently sung his praises where he highlighted the German’s skills, which might give Süle some hope.
“I know him as a coach; he has outstanding qualities. He’s fast, technically strong, and has excellent vision.
“When he is at his best, he is one of Germany’s best central defenders,” Kovac explained.
